Kate, via Twitter (and you ask why ppl would embrace such a silly service), was kind enough to take this picture before dropping her deceased brolly in the hotel bin. She says it passed just as the heavens opened, so we quite admire her dedication in not chucking it immediately in frustration.

Well, well, well. While we can't imagine climbing into the 6 train in this fashion interpretation, we're reminded of our favorite childhood Barbie -- Day to Night. Naturally, this suit is designed for she who gives the board-room presentation, not she who sits and takes notes. And for that, we salute this extraordinary vision!

This may be our first observation of this particular umbrella configuration with 2x spokes, and if it was a design improvement for function it seems to have succeeded. Umbrella handle: such the attention whore.

Painful memories

Of the time we tried to sneak over the fence into the neighborhood pool back in high school. When it was my turn to scale the fence the trashcan we were using to get up and over tipped over. Man alive, I loved that bathing suit: hot pink and high cut. And, most importantly, very strong.

Poor fella.
